We the students of IIT Kharagpur have organised a signature campaign to bring awareness among the student community about the human right violations happened in Sri Lanka against the ethnic Tamil community during the final stage Civil war by the Sri Lankan Government. We highlighted the following points during our awareness campaign.
We explained the present situation of the ethnic tamils in Srilanka and made the students aware of this issue. This signature campaign received a good response and we have covered over 1800 people during this process. All the students we have approached have expressed their grievance and concern over this issue and pledged to support for this good cause in future also. In continuation of this signature campaign, in order to bring awareness among more number of people of the IIT community, we have successfully organised a peace full rally on 24th evening 4:30 P.M... More than 300 students belonging to different states participated in this peacefully rally to register their solidarity over this human rights issue.

- To conduct an international independent investigation on the human rights violations and genocide killings happened against the ethnic Tamils.
- To give equal rights and political power to the linguistic minorities living in Sri Lanka.
- Requesting India to register a strong protest and concerned action against the Sri Lankan government over this issue.
